Clearing sale auction of Antiques, horse drawn vehicles, blacksmithing & wheelwrighting equipment, harness, collectables, vintage vehicles, farm equipment, 561 lots.
This auction attracted some 250 registered bidders and as many again viewing. Strong prices for the highly specialized carriage driving items resulted in some exceptional results. The auction was 95% sold by Lot and 129% sold by value. Results included $1,300 for a small 19th century cast iron Grist Mill, $550 for a rare Fire Brigade Collar, $1,025 for a 19th century viceroy Show Box wagon, $6,000 for a Concord spring Survey Wagon, $1,025 for a pair of Lithgow pottery Dogs, $2,750 for a pair of Landau lamps and $1,375 for a rare Cobb & Co centre lamp. Double and single Abbott buggies sold unrestored for $1,500 to $2,000. A very good Tip Dray sold for $2,310. Results for a fine group of vintage bridge timbers saw all lots selling well above estimates.
